terrario

The Terrario Collection builds upon the research initiated with the Acquario series, exploring nature as a constructed presence within domestic space. Inspired by the layered ecosystems of terrariums, the project translates natural elements into design objects that exist between reality and imagination.

Rather than replicating organic forms, the collection evokes the artificial condition of contained habitats. Abstract volumes are wrapped in an undulating skin of thousands of hand-mounted ceramic discs, whose tones, ranging from deep brown to emerald green, recall the hues of forest undergrowth.

The pieces emerge from an extensive process of material research and digital experimentation. Natural elements are collected, scanned, and reassembled to form a fictional ecosystem, giving rise to a series of functional sculptures including a floor lamp, tables, a console, and a wall mirror.
